Hello Christoph,

As you may have seen in another posting I made, I can connect OK using 4.6D
GUI.
To satisfy curiosity though, I'll have a go at the "default profile bug" fix
with the 4.6B GUI & let you know how I get on.

It's a bug in the default profile:

No, this is a server problem. Probably the windows gui initialises a
little bit different and leads to this error. (Just guessing)

You should read

this specific system. For general SAP knowhow there are a lot of books
out there.
